I’m raising a daughter that is not my biological but make no mistake I’m her dad. I have been involved with every major function she’s been in since she was 4 years old. I’m a very busy man and make no excuses to see to it that she is doing what I ask her to do. What do I mean by that? Let’s see it started since she was in Pre-kindergarten. From her learning how to take care of herself (brushing her teeth, getting dressed and getting her schoolwork), I have been involved. Then, as she got older, I wrote a plan out on what she wants to become in life. I also was very active in her reading and math assignments. Even in the summer, she had to read for 30 minutes and do math problems Mondays thru Fridays.
In addition, she also was active in chess, dance, robotics, and coding. I was one of her biggest cheerleaders. Success for our children is the sacrifice we are willing to make. Good investments in our children can break many generations roadblocks and setbacks in many cultures. It can lead to your child being the first to go to and graduate from college, the first in a career that is permanent, or even the President of the United States. It starts and ends with us dads to do our part. Truth be told, many good women have carried the torch or raising their children by themselves, so fathers we must do better!t’s another school year Dads.
